Watsu

A form of shiatsu massage that takes place in a cedar pool with chest deep water heated to 97 °F. Watsu combines elements of shiatsu massage, joint mobilization, stretching and tai chi to promote deep relaxation, reduce pain and improve range of motion.

Watsu was created in 1980 by Harold Dull. Harold combined the principles of Shiatsu massage and the buoyancy of water to create a gentle and deeply relaxing form of bodywork. You can learn more about its creation on the Harbin Hot Springs site.
